Trezor the bitcoin safe - the hardware bitcoin wallet - a step in the evolution of bitcoin towards a completely safe payment system. Trezor brings peace of mind. Ultimate security - no matter how unprotected your computer or internet connection might be, your coins always stay safe with Trezor as it never exposes your private keys. Trezor is an isolated environment for offline transaction signing and using a small display you can visually verify the transaction contents. That's why all operations using Trezor are entirely safe. Easy to use - Trezor is windows, OS X and Linux friendly. All you need to do is to connect your Trezor to the computer and follow the instructions. There are only two buttons, to confirm or to deny the action, so using Trezor is as easy and as intuitive as it can be. Users can backup the whole Trezor contents on a small piece of paper and use this backup to regain access to all their coins in case of disaster, loss or theft. Modern cryptography - Trezor uses state of the art cryptographic algorithms and practices, but you don't have to read long manuals or to be a crypto-expert in order to use them properly. Community driven open-source - Trezor code is open-source and technical decisions are discussed with the wider developer community. Everything can be audited by an independent third party. This ensures that Trezor is absolutely transparent and backdoor free.

The Trezor arrives in a slim box that has tamper seals on both openings and the flaps of the box are secured by adhesive. This ensures that the Trezor will be tamper free when it arrives in the customers hands. The Trezor operates through a web interface and during setup the firmware will be flashed to ensure that the device is not infected with malware. The setup will then prompt you to write down a unique string of words that can be used to restore your Trezor on another device in case it gets destroyed. After you set a pin you are ready to go.
The Trezor connects to your computer through micro usb and each time it will prompt you to enter your pin. The digits displayed on the Trezor screen will be scrambled and you need to enter your pin onto the blank keys displayed on the computer screen. Each time the orientation of the numbers on the Trezor will be different as it prevents a background screen recorder from capturing your pin number.
When you login to the trezor wallet webpage it allows you to select which cryptowallet you want to interact with. Currently the drop down shows; BTC, BCH, DASH, LTC, ZEC, ETH, and ETC. You can create many different addresses under each type of crypto so all of your coins are not stored under one address. For anyone wondering, you are not able to access your private keys for your addresses.
When you want to send crypto the Trezor will have an on screen popup asking you to confirm the amount of crypto and address you are sending to. This is to make sure your crypto does not get hacked or to prevent you from fat fingering a transaction.
Something that slightly bothers me is that the device does not natively support ethereum and instead stores it on myetherwallet and the trezor acts as a 2FA for MEW. Hopefully in the future they will add on device support for ETH storage.
Overall this is a very secure device and I highly recommend it to anyone investing in crypto. The ledger nano is also an option but it is always back ordered and takes about 2 months to deliver.
It’s not designed to receiver miner payments. But is designed for larger transactions. And to keep you money secure.
